All Ages Welcome

Area residents will have the opportunity to learn basic principles of safe hunting at a free Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) hunter safety course.

Location: Restoration Chapel, 235 Grand Ave, Waterloo, IL 62298

All hunters born on or after January 1, 1980, must successfully complete the hunter education course before they can receive their first hunting license.

Participants completing the hunter education course receive a Hunter Education Certification card verifying that they have passed the course of instruction.

This is an excellent opportunity for hunters who need the course in order to qualify for their hunting license. However, it can be beneficial for both beginning, current and advanced hunters, even those born before January 1, 1980.

The minimum ten hour course includes instruction in firearms safety, know your equipment, hunter ethics, treestand safety, wildlife management, bowhunting, first aid, laws and regulations.

Pre-registration is required for attendance at the class.
